Updating local copy

I'm updating my local directory right now.
I'll be also going to Cygwin to get the dll.
So, I have to enable-threads to make it work?
Could someone give me a complete list of enables etc
for the compiler?
I'm trying to rebuild an i586-pc-cygwin for my 80586. 
Do I have to use --with-cpu-i586?
