cpp.texi problems

I get this:

Making info file `cpp.info' from `cpp.texi'.
cpp.texi:1159: Unknown command `option'.
cpp.texi:1159: Misplaced {.
cpp.texi:1159: Misplaced }.
cpp.texi:1160: Unknown command `option'.
cpp.texi:1160: Misplaced {.
cpp.texi:1160: Misplaced }.

Just in case it was due to my having an old version of texinfo, I installed
the latest one on sourceware.cygnus.com, which was 3.12.

If I can't easily find a version of texinfo that will handle this, I suspect
most others can't either and that this feature should not have been used.
