Don't be obtuse.  You know very well what he means.

Yes, the rs6000 port should be fixed to work with a 64-bit host word.
This is not entirely altruistic, since at present I can't cross from
my alphas.  ;-)

But it is also not acceptable to slow down a native 32-bit ppc-linux 
compiler by forcing it to do multi-word arithmetic when it is not
necessary.
