gcc.dg/special/weak-1.c failure

I looked at the gcc.dg/special/weak-1.c failure I got,
build@netwinder.org and other testresults I checked don't have this
failure.

http://gcc.gnu.org/install/specific.html says that binutils-2.9.1.0.15
or newer is needed for "exception handling to work", on my system I
have binutils-2.9.1.0.23-6 (from RH 6.1 RPM).

I looked at the assembly generated for weak-1.c, and it does have a
".weak foo" directive so may be the failure is due to wrong
as/ld/whatever behaviour? If so, what version should I use?
