Which, incidentally, can be solved *correctly* with an ia64-like
PT_IA_64_UNWIND program header solution, plus some coziness with
ld.so.  Not sure what to do about non-elf systems or systems not
using an appropriately new version of gld.

But lets do consider this before bodging anything up.

No.  Weak symbols don't buy you anything over strong symbols.
All the problems arrise when symbols aren't cross-resolved period.
