Please reread my sentence, "Any solution for Linux". You miss my point. Since GCC needs to work with or without glibc, it isn't dependent on glibc. So the question, which needs to be adddressed to the glibc folks, in my opinion, is why is there a dependency in glibc on GCC's internal library?
