What is acceptable for -ffast-math? A numerical viewpoint

I think we'll have to bite the bullet and proclaim the support / lack of
clear semantics of -ffast-math an "open project" like there are so many
of them on our home page ( http://gcc.gnu.org/projects/ ).

I'll write up a draft over the weekend.
