ARM PR2237

This PR describes a problem on the ARM where reload falls over when
compiling the Linux kernel.

Because the ARM is one of our secondary platforms we can ship without
fixing this bug -- but I would like to fix it if we can.  It is,
however, beyond my abilities to fix.

Would someone be willing to volunteer to fix this problem?  Bernd, I
know you're a reload expert; would you be willing to help out?  

If you're a volunteer willing to work on this bug, please let me know.
