Here's an update on the Fortran status:

There are 9 non-closed bug reports in the GNATS database on Fortran and
1 on libf2c.

Fortran:

 275: An ICE on a -O1 -mabi=64 compile on mips-sgi-irix6.5
      This is a regression w.r.t. 2.95.2

542: g77 doesn't support direct access files larger than 2Gbyte on
      32-bit targets
      A feature request - suspended

947: An assert on using an INTEGER*2 value as an array index in a
DATA statement - a genuine frontend error
      This is not a regression

1645: This is g77.f-torture/execute/20010116.f. Fails on i?86
      This is a regression w.r.t. 2.95.3

1832: g77 -fbounds-check doesn't catch string bounds overrun on
      internal write
This has always been uncaught - no regression

2031: This is g77.f-torture/compile/20000511-2.f. Fails on
      mips-sgi-irix6.5 with -O3 -g
      This is a regression w.r.t. 2.95

2033: g77 -ffixed-line-length-none blah.f gives warning:
      unknown register name: line-length-none
      Cute, but wrong - a regression w.r.t. 2.95.3

2153: g77 gives misleading error message when dummy argument of a
statement function is also declared as an array.
A feature request - this has been wrong always - suspended.

2193: An installation failure on HPUX 10.20 of 2.95.2 (perhaps someone
with HPUX experience can look into this one ?)

libf2c:

941: Configure fails on libf2c when cross-compiling because the
configure script uses auto-host.h which is host, not target,
      specific
Way beyond my understanding of the cross-compiling infrastructure

Hope this is useful,
