Bootstrap error in snapshot gcc-20010402 on alphaev67-dec-osf5.1

true, some people tried it in the past, but failed for the reasons you've
reported.

Most of my patches haven't been reviewed (let alone integrated) yet, so
that won't help much.

Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much interest in Tru64 support in
GCC 3.0: it's still undeciced whether Alpha GNU/Linux or Tru64 UNIX is to
be the primary evaluation platform on alpha (see
http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-3.0/criteria.html ), and several of my patches to get
along further with the bootstrap on Tru64 5.1 have taken weeks and at least
one reminder to be reviewed at all.  So maybe others reporting similar
failures will help to get some attention for this platform.
