And this is a good idea why? Rather than hacking things to make this
work again, why not make Ada use the builtin mechanisms?
Because that's a significant amount of work, which shouldn't be on the
critical path.
But that's hardly the only time this sort of thing is used: I've seen it
used when you have external hardware and you want to monitor PC addresses.
