Bootstrap failure of gcc-ss-20010409 in ia64

It appears that entropy still has the upper hand.  I have to add another item
to the list

5) libffi fails to build.  It seems that this has been broken for a while,
   but did not show up because libffi wasn't getting configured.  Now that it
   gets configured, it causes obvious build failures.  However, it isn't
   obvious why it is getting configured now when it didn't use to be.
