I am running RHv6.1 and rpm 3.*. When I try to install the 2.96* build of gcc, I get an error that says something like "this version of rpm only supports major numbers <= 3." I have tried to upgrade my version of rpm to 4.04*, but it won't support that major number. I seem to be in a catch 22 here, any help or links to help would be awesome.  thx a 1E6  8ud5m0k3r
