Dear Mark,

you are right and I apologize.  I was simply shocked by the
number of stupid and insulting messages that I received as
a consequense of my (apparently innocuous) message.
I wanted to discourage other people without the slightest
intention of being helpful from sending messages to me.
I understand that, in doing this, I have contributed
to polluting the list.
Please accept my apologies.
