    Perhaps one of the GNAT folks (Robert Dewar, Richard Kenner,...)
    could comment on that?

Those patches are pretty useless at the moment.  There was an old
version of EGCS for which they'd produce a GNAT that would build but
wouldn't work very well.  The current patch file (to GNAT, not GCC) is
13K lines and still doesn't pass the internal regression suite.
