I'm going thru my old patches.  I origially submitted
this one in May of 1999, and ran across the following
refresh to it from Laurynas Biveinis.  I'll take this
one as a substitute for my resubmtting my version
(which for various reasons has been allowed to "rot").

While mail archives show that patch was gladly accepted,
it was delayed -
