Error and Warning messages

Please have a look at the section "Invoking gcc" of the gcc manual.

That may be a bug in gcc, or a bug in the linker, which does not deal
with "common" symbols properly. In any case, it is not a warning
emitted by the compiler; it comes from the linker.
