g77 question

No, g77 doesn't support structure and record extensions, nor are they
identical to those which are supported under f90.  The PSR f90
www.psrv.com for linux is a front end which supports much of f90 using
g77 as a back end, and, like most commercial linux Fortrans, supports
linking with g77 code.  You may well wish to license a commercial f90,
if converting this syntax to the f90 equivalent appears to be a useful
exercise.
