Porting GCC to a new OS?

[Pileborg Joachim - FMT]

Lets say that I am writing this hypothetical(sp?) new OS, and want to use
GCC to both compile the kernel and the applications for this new OS. What do
I need to do to port GCC?

This OS will be using ELF for object- and program-files, and will first of
all be used on ordinary PC's (i386) and on Motorolas 68k processor.

Anyone have some tips or tricks up their sleeve?  :)
