My second paragraph was unclear. It should read:
This seems like a lot of debug for 632 bytes of .text. Is this a
feature of debug symbols that cannot be avoided?
Note the . of .text. I was trying to say that for such a small text
segment there was perhaps an excessive amount of debug information
output.
