Please see ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/superopt/ for the package, in it,
you should be able to find more information. If you give it a target
sequence you want, it will find a replacement sequence in assembler
that in theory (and usually in practice) does the same thing and is
near optimal. It can handle sequence up to around 13-15 insns on
modern machines.
