egcs-1.1.2 success on sparc-sun-solaris2.4

TWIMC,
   Egcs-1.1.2 successfully built on sparc-sun-solaris2.4
gcc 2.8.1, gmake 3.75, gtar 1.12 were available prior to the build.
The build could not be completed using the recommended separate
object directory, but completed when built in the source directory 
instead, as previously mentioned:

error messages with recommended build procedure included:

make: Fatal error: Don't know how to make target `../lib/system.h'
