I'm trying to build egcs 1.1.2 on an IRIX 6.5 machine (R5K). I want to
generate a gcc MIPS3 binary though. So, I
	$ # unpack egcs
	$ cd egcs-1.1.2
	$ mkdir objdir
	$ cd objdir
	$ CC=cc ../configure --enable-cpp
	$ gmake bootstrap
	$ gmake BOOT_CFLAGS=-mips3 bootstrap
	...
	stage1/xgcc -Bstage1/  -DIN_GCC    -mips3  -DHAVE_CONFIG_H   -o
	gengenrtl \
 	gengenrtl.o ` case "obstack.o" in ?*) echo obstack.o ;; esac ` ` case
	"" in ?*) echo  ;; esac ` ` case "" in ?*) echo  ;; esac ` ` case ""
	in ?*) echo  ;; esac ` ` case "" in ?*) echo  ;; esac `
	./gengenrtl tmp-genrtl.h tmp-genrtl.c
	gmake[2]: *** [s-genrtl] Bus error (core dumped)
	gmake[2]: Leaving directory `/opt/build/egcs-1.1.2/objdir/gcc'
	gmake[1]: *** [bootstrap] Error 2
	gmake[1]: Leaving directory `/opt/build/egcs-1.1.2/objdir/gcc'
	gmake: *** [bootstrap] Error 2

Is what I want to do possible?
