Online docs page should provide a downloadable PS version (?)

No. :-)

Sometimes, apathy != bad idea.

I got one private reply suggesting PDF instead.  Although I don't know
if there are any free (in the FSF definition) PDF viewers or
generators from texi.

Anyway, I don't see the harm in setting up an automated PS job which
could run along with the texi2html.  I think I recall that viewing the
manual was one of the bandwidth hogs.  So this may help.
