DGUX Unix - GCC-2.95.x

GCC-2.95 has incorporated most all of the development in gcc-2.8.1
and beyond. The last remaining pieces will be incorporated soon. All
DG/ux changes would have been merged into EGCS.

GCC-2.95 runs well on many other platforms besides Linux, so
gcc-2.95 did not gratuituously break cpp on DG/ux or other non-Linux
platforms.

I am very confused by much of your message. xcpp is installed in
cpp_install_dir only if that Makefile variable is defined. Does DG/ux
requires that $(prefix)/bin/cpp exist and needs to have identical behavior
to gcc_local_dir?

As always, the GCC maintainers welcome greater participation in
regression testing and patches to improve functionality of GCC on various
platforms. If some gcc-2.8.1 functionality on DG/ux did not get merged
correctly or DG/ux requires special configuration options, the maintainers
would be glad to consider patches to fix these problems.
