Dwarf/Elf debugging in GCC

Jason,

I am looking into making GCC for the Motorola Coldfire (M68K) output Elf 
files for various commercial debugging manufacturers.

What is required to do this?

What is the machine specific stuff that I have to look at to change?

I am new to GCC internals so forgive my ignorance.
