debugging code compiled with gcc 2.95

Hi,

I am wondering what the proper debugging tool is for gcc 2.95.  I've tried using
gdb 4.16 and 4.18, and I'm having problems with both of them.   Every time I
try to print an object, I get a debugger segmentation fault.
