Exception handling, dynamic linking and weak symbol tricks

Not compatible?  There may be a bug, if there is, you can state it
and, if you have time fix it, or if not, submit the bug report and
eventually someone else may fix it for you.  I think the underlying
scheme was designed to support dynamic loading and unloading of code.
