I get this strange error message for the following small program
(it used to cause a sig 11 in EGCS-1.0.3):

#include <memory>
#include <cstdlib>
#include <iostream>

template <int i = 20> char *
xx (const auto_ptr<char> &c = auto_ptr<char>(new char[i]))
{
    return strncpy (c.get (), "Hello World!", i);
}

int
main ()
{
    cout << xx () << endl;
}

Just in case:

pommnitz ~>gcc -v
Reading specs from
/usr/local/egcs/egcs-1.1a/lib/gcc-lib/i586-pc-linux-gnu/egcs-2.91.57/specs
gcc version egcs-2.91.57 19980901 (egcs-1.1 release)
