Hi,

I haven't checked the LGPL recently but the last time I looked
into it, it had a serious restriction: Basically, it was not allowed
to distribute compiled code which is covered by the LGPL
unless it is compiled with gcc. I don't think that this is an
acceptable restriction. Personally, I prefer a license like the
one of the SGI STL or the LGPL with the restriction to gcc
removed.

A free software coder (but I'm not involved in the implementation
>of libstdc++).
