egcs-19981012: libf2c installation problem

Platform: mips-sgi-irix6.2
Snapshot: egcs-19981012
Configuration: --enable-shared --enable-haifa
--prefix=/usr/local/tmp/egcs-19981012 

Problem:

Compiled and checked as usual "make; make -k check"
Then "make install" rebuilds libf2c

Cannot add further details without rebuilding whole distribution.
