`configure' slightly broken in texinfo tree

I'm sure everyone knows this already, but in 1.1b-release and in the
latest CVS sources as of about 2000 GMT, `configure' in the texinfo
tree is somewhat broken.
The patch is simple, but as I am a mere plebe I'll probably have to
ask someone else to actually apply it (and it is questionable whether
patches to things like the texinfo tree should be applied at all, as
they are really other GNU packages):
