It is a known problem.
For the record, egcs 1.0.3, when configured with --enable-haifa,
miscompiles itself. This shows up in the form of an unrecognized
insn in the aforementioned files in the linux kernel.
The problem does not appear in the pre-release egcs 1.1 branch.
It is unlikely that anyone will go back and fix the 1.0.3 release
since there is the quite reasonable work-around in not configuring
with --enable-haifa.
