on an i586-pc-linux-gnulibc1 for an m68k-coff target using (on the
target) newlib-1.8.0

Overall, it went OK, I've never built a compiler before, and I managed
to do it in about a solid week of evenings.  The greatest obstacle was
getting the target include files.  If anyone is interested in the
details, I can reply.  If you're just keeping count, now you know, and
I'll stop here...
