Question about egcs building w/native compiler

Okay, I do have GNU make installed, but it is gmake.  And I'm almost 
positive I just used the standard IBM make that came with the system (AIX 
4.2.1).  I will make sure I have the newest make, though.

It shouldn't be using "cc" at all during stage2.  We've seen this happen 
with certain versions of gnu make on aix.  What version of gnu make
are you using?

At least one person as reported problems with older versions of gnu-make on this
platform.
make-3.76 is reported to work correctly.
