egcs-1.0.1 on OSR5.0.2 - nuts

I don't see this when bootstrapping on my 5.0.4. system.  In fact, I
just bootstrapped 1.0.1 on rjlhome this morning.

I make sure the build picks up GNU make instead of OpenServer's make.


Can you tell what's dropping core?  Is it the shell or is it make or
what?   Can you tell when or where?
