  First off, is anyone working on getting egcs to build on  
i386-next-nextstep4?  I tried a while back and without too much trouble was  
able to get stage1 egcs to build.

  Stage2 failed though since the compiler driver calls the NeXT (Apple, now)  
linker such that calls into the shared libraries containing the system  
functions (libc and all that) crash.  After some manual futzing around with  
linker options I was able to get a stage2 program to build ('genattr', I  
think it was called).

  How would I go about configuring egcs to call the builtin linker  
correctly?  I assume that I need to modify the specs file... any pointers to  
documentation on this would be helpful.

  If I can get this working, the port to {i386,ppc}-apple-rhapsody should be  
pretty trivial.
