Hm, would it be possible to temporarily return hppa1.1 for hppa2.0
processors?  I admit it is not a perfect solution, but at least to me it
seems better than sticking to hppa1.0 for all those 8xx series machines.
I can send a patch modified like this if you like.

BTW, I must say I know nothing about hppa2.0 since we don't yet have any
around here.

Well, I never did get any response, either because none was sent or
perhaps because it got lost on its way.  Should I resend the patch to
gcc2?
