Successful build of 19980824 on alpha-dec-osf4.0d

[Reid M. Pinchback]

It built (and built faster than in the past).  It installed.
I didn't have to do anything wierd to coax it along during 
the build or install.  g++ seems to be working on simple
programs (except for a bug that I also found in 19980803;
I've just reported it to egcs-bugs).

So far so good!
