I think that it is enough to say at the top, something like

Q. How do I write <X> in <C,C++,Fortran,etc.>
A. This is not an egcs question, it is a language question.  Please
   consult one of the following FAQs:

	g++ FAQ:
	Fortran FAQ:

   If that doesn't help, please ask your question on an appropriate
   newsgroup:
	<list>

Q. No, I want to know how to write <X> in egcs!
A. egcs aims to be a standard compiler, so check general programming
   resources above.  If you think that something should work and it
   doesn't, and you've checked the relevant FAQs or are a language
   expert, you may have found a bug.  We do want to hear about bugs.
