problems with cvs -z9 update

Actually that script won't work with plain /bin/sh! :-(

However, I'd be willing to contribute a full egcs-update script, that 
updates a CVS tree along the lines of faq.html#generated_files.

Interested? Jeff? (If yes, how should it be called?)
