typedef vs. typename confusion

I have a pretty complex 'template' program too, it needs
'typename' at 46 different places. I didn't use typename
before I moved to gcc-2.8 which did give a clear warning
for every place I needed it. I have no reason to believe
that this has changed in egcs.
