I tried it and it failed on HP-UX too...

GNU assembler version 2.7 (hppa1.1-hp-hpux10.20), using BFD version 2.7
% g++ --version
egcs-2.91.22

(gdb) where
#0  0x7ae90124 in __builtin_new (sz=0)
#1  0x7ffffffc in ?? ()
#2  0xdd74 in __sjthrow ()
#3  0x0 in ?? ()
