libio is broken for linux, libc 5 and glibc 2. If you use libc 5.4.39,
you can get

But glibc 2.0.5 and glibc 2.1 are also broken. You cannot finish

# make check

in libio and libstdc++ due to 2 undefined symbols. I have a patch
for glibc 2 which I have sent to Ulrich. He may have a better one.
