i960 variable args

A user has reported a runtime problem he has not tracked down yet but I
just wanted to check on the list to see if anyone had a known positive
expereicne with a recent eg cssnapshot and newlib 1.8.0's printf.

I would settle for a confirmed report that i960 variable args stuff works.
