libiberty build failure in Sept.1 egcs snapshot

   The advantage of doing this is that you can do multiple builds from
   the same source tree, which is something that I have to do all of
   the time.  This also means that your source tree is cleaner, since
   you don't have to wade through all of the .o files to find the .c
   files.  This will probably not work unless you are using GNU make.

I know, and I usually do.  But I don't if I know that I won't be
building for any other host/target configurations.

Then again, maybe it's good that people are still trying this so that
bugs such as these do get caught and fixed. ;-)
