ADVISORY NOTICE for Linux users: extra _G_config.h files

Some people have been reporting that "libstdc++" on Linux has
undefined references to the "_IO_outfloat" function.  At least one
patch has been made available to force the library into a particular
working configuration.

However, for my own machine (Linux with glibc-2.0.5c), the problem
turned out to be caused by multiple, conflicting copies of
"_G_config.h" which had accumulated over time.  I was #including the
wrong, out-of-date one.  To fix the problem, I just got rid of them
all, copied a new one from my glibc-2.0.5 distribution to
"/usr/include" and rebuilt "libstdc++" and "libio".

Anyone running across the "_IO_outfloat" error should run the command

  find / -name _G_config.h -print

as root to check for duplicates.  It might be a good idea for every
Linux user to do this; you never know.
