When compiling glibc 2.1 (971113 snapshot), I ran into the following error,

glob.c: In function `glob':
glob.c:813: internal error--unrecognizable insn:
(insn 2809 2812 2813 (set (reg:SI 749)
        (unspec[
                (minus:SI (label_ref:SI 2134)
                    (label_ref:SI 2439))
                (reg:SI 783)
            ]  8)) -1 (nil)
    (expr_list:REG_EQUAL (const:SI (minus:SI (label_ref:SI 2134)
                (label_ref:SI 2439)))
        (expr_list:REG_LABEL (code_label 2134 2133 2139 326 "")
            (nil))))
gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11

which I trace down to,

    806   if (!(flags & GLOB_NOSORT))
    807     /* Sort the vector.  */
    808     qsort ((__ptr_t) &pglob->gl_pathv[oldcount],
    809            pglob->gl_pathc - oldcount,
    810            sizeof (char *), collated_compare);
    811
    812   return 0;
    813 }

The qsort appears to be only an issue when compiling shared or profiled object
files. I am also using binutils-2.8.1.0.17 in my tarball. Any ideas?
