Yes, this is what I found as well.  A solution is to insert into
libc-lock.h

asm(".weakext _pthread_cleanup_push_defer");
asm(".weakext _pthread_cleanup_pop_restore");

instead of the `#pragma weak's.  This is rather ugly, but works for
me.
