I suggest waiting about a week to collect any "show-stopper" bugs we
missed from the net, and then doing a 1.0.1.  It might include a couple
of other bug fixes deemed to be very low-risk that didn't make it in,
and a more complete NEWS (to satisfy those who felt the gcc 2.8.0 NEWS
looks better than ours).
